We have watched our video over and we have decided that we want to speed some of the footage too keep it up with the beat when it gets fast. We will add in some cuts that will change along with the beat in time. Also we have thought of a cool idea that we want to try out, we only have a few clips of Shaun, our lead singer, and we also want to connect him with the powder fight to help the story line make sense. Our idea is to either have a split screen or to cut a clip of me blowing out powder paint from my mouth in to his face. We will be filming this on Friday.

Today we edited more of the video and added more to the powder paint fight by
reversing some shots so that there were more effects in there.

We still have quite a few gaps to fill but we plan to film all next week. For the first three gaps we plan to have our lead singer miming to the lyrics and then the last gap we want to split the screen into four, each person will sing a line and then look in the direction of the next person that will appear on the screen. We have edited the beginning of our video and we are really pleased with it as it really starts the concept off well. I think the footage we filmed was good, we included lots of angles to make it seem more interesting and I think it shows it leading up to the powder paint fight. Also,we only filmed my legs so it would add a bit of mystery.

Development

We have gone over the feedback from other groups viewing our music video and also talked about it with our teacher. We have decided to get rid of the footage of the band and find a new 'singer', also got rid of some party footage as it didn't make sense. We want to give our music video a story line as we planned our story boards. So there will be clues and a build up to the powder fight as the video goes on. We now need to find someone who would be a lead singer
from the band. This person will be shown throughout the video to show they are important.

Feedback

The class had a screening of music videos which gave everyone a chance to say what was good and what didn't work. Our feedback sheets were positive, everyone circled "It definitely has potential".

The other groups said the elements that work are:

• Paint fight
• The paint fight was really effective
• The powder fight
• Reversing the shot of blowing powder paint
• Powder fight worked very well
• Love the slow motion shots and reverse shot of the powder
  fight
• Powder paint fight
• The reverse shot
• Beginning and ending with Arron.

The other groups said the things that need developing are:

• Lip syncing
• Some shots are too long - especially performance
• Tie it together with more consistency
• Lip syncing at the start
• Lip syncing
• Lips out of sync
• Gap needs to be filled
• Beginning needs to be tighter.

From this feedback we now have to improve on the lead singer performance, we could either get Jake to do it again or someone completely different who would be more interested in performing for us because Jake didn't exactly put a lot of effort in to it.

Also we have been told to cut the song down a bit because it is too long.

We are going to film our main scene on Tuesday 17th January after school. The scene is going to be the powder fight. We will do some test runs of where people are going to be positioned and what they are going to do and then do it with the powder. We will film lots of angles and differnt shots, close ups, long shots. Hopefully it will be successful.

Today we filmed a scene for our music video Where a business woman is sitting at her desk working saying the line "well i can't see anyone else smiling in here". she says it sarcastically. Then we edited in to our music video.

On sunday our filming didn't go to plan as we wanted to film outside and have the powder paint fight, the weather wasn't on our side, it was raining and windy. Also about 5 people pulled out at the last minute so we wouldn't of had enough people to film two big gangs with. However Charlotte had the cameras so she filmed her self saying "I said Pretend you've got the money, she just laughed and said 'Oh you're so funny,i said 'Yeah'?

Today we filmed the band scenes again with Jake. We shot lots of different angles so we have plenty of footage to choose from. I think that it was successful although from watching it backJake's miming is on time but not very clear and his lips aren't moving very clearly.

We also re-shot a scene where Laura says "she said fine" because it wasn't in time with the lyrics.

In todays lesson I went to Morrisons with Charlotte to film another scene for our music video. I had to sit in a trolley and while miming the lyrics of the song and Charlotte pushed me around while a member from our class filmed. We played back the footage and it was successful.

Today the person that we got to mime as lead singer of the band has decided he doesn't want to do it anymore because he felt uncomfortable not knowing all of the lyrics. so we arranged someone new to do it instead.

In todays lesson we filmed a bit of footage of our band. The members are lewis, Connor and Grant. The performed some of the song where we need the lead singer miming the lyrics. The also did a photo shoot for Charlottes digi pack.

In todays lesson the band that we were supposed to be filming had important work to be getting on with in their friday lesson so we were unable to perform for us but we arranged to film on monday in a single lesson where they wont be as busy. So I got on with my poster for Crimson. I wanted my poster to be plain and simple. The reason why I chose the background to be black is to make the colours stand out, if the background was white it wouldn't work as well as the black. The word 'CRIMSON' is red and in capitals to show the importance of the band. The album name is multi coloured, i was just being playful with the name and text, i thought it would work well as the album is called 'Explosion of colour'.

PLAN

My plan for the next five hours is to....

25th November lesson 1 and 2: Filming our band in the music department it should take 2 hours to get the shots and angles right. We have already arranged this with the music department and the people we will be filming.

28th November lesson 5: Finnish my poster for Crimson and pick my final design and upload to blog. Also add proof of arranging the day for the powder fight (on Facebook)

2nd December lesson 1 and 2: Possibly filming in Morrisons to do the trolly scene. Someone will sit in a trolly while being pushed down an isle.

Last Friday we filmed another part of the music video, we filmed three differnt people singing lyrics. We wanted the footage to flow and not have any cuts. I put the camera on a dolly so the footage will be smooth, it was better than moving the actural camera where it could be shakey. It took about 5 takes to get it done. In the end the footage looked good. Here are some shots of the footage.

These are only four of the six panels that i have done so far. The process that i went through to get these images was by painting my face white and then i flicked paint at my face to get the splat effect which connects with the music video. I need one more picture to go on one more flap so i will have to take more photos. The reason why the font is black is because the red on the face and the red in the text clashed with each other and wouldn't show up clearly so I changed it to black. But as you can see the word 'Crimson' on the CD is still red. Explosion of colour is the album name.

Me and Charlotte went to our friend Amy's house to film a scene for our music video. We filmed us playing a game of pool. I thought our footage was successful as we filmed from lots of different angles and choose our best one to go in the video.

In todays lesson I have been working on our pitch for fridays lesson where we have to present our music video ideas to the class.

I have started to make my 6 panel digi pack. I have made some changes on the font. The reason for doing this is because the background and the font clash with each other because they are very colourful. The red in the font couldn't be seen against some of the red in the background. The background image is of half of my face with paint splattered all over it. This idea was to keep it with the theme of the powder fight in the video and also the album name is Explosion of colour.

This is now the font. On the front cover of the didgi pack the font will be black and on the CD the band name 'Crimson' will be red but the album name 'Explosion of colour' will be black.

Crimson will be in capitals to show that the name of the band is important.
